Pick Me Up ends on 2 November and route 27 goes on 18 October. The 34 is extended, a new 35 serves Abbey Barn Park and the 38 runs hourly. Times inside.
The Wycombe Pick Me Up on-demand bus will stop running on Monday 2 November. Buckinghamshire Council says the service was a pilot that began with Department for Transport money, and the grant has now run out. (Buckinghamshire Council, changes to bus services)
Route 27 goes first, from Sunday 18 October. Four other town routes change the same weekend to cover the areas both services leave behind.
The council says local buses have improved while Pick Me Up ran, with more buses from Carousel and smaller operators, part-funded by the council.
Pick Me Up launched on 27 September 2022. Passengers book a minibus by app to pick them up at a “virtual bus stop”. Go-Ahead, Carousel’s parent company, said at launch that it was funded by the council with support from the government’s Rural Mobility Fund. (Go-Ahead, 21 September 2022)

Every timetable below comes from the PDFs the council has published for each route.
Route 34 and the new 34A
The council says the 34 will now also run via London Road and the Hatters Lane area, rejoining the current route at Hicks Farm Rise. It then carries on past Olympic Way to Orchard Road. The new 34A runs on weekdays only and goes beyond Wycombe Marsh to Robinson Road.
The 34 and 34A timetable shows:
- Monday to Friday: buses alternate between Olympic Way (34) and Robinson Road, The Rise (34A), giving one every 30 minutes through Hicks Farm Rise and London Road, Lidl. The first leaves Lane End at 6.20am. The last from the bus station towards Robinson Road leaves at 6.55pm.
- Saturday: an hourly 34 to Olympic Way, with buses every 30 minutes between the town centre, the Coachway, ASDA at Booker and Lane End.
- Sunday and bank holidays: hourly between the bus station and Lane End only, with nothing to Olympic Way.
Route 35, new to Abbey Barn Park
A new weekday service runs hourly between the bus station, Marlow Hill schools, Daws Hill Lane and Abbey Barn Park. The 35 timetable shows:
- 12 journeys each way, Monday to Friday
- first bus from Abbey Barn Park at 6.15am, reaching the bus station at 6.33am
- last bus from the bus station at 5.45pm, reaching Abbey Barn Park at 6.05pm
- no service at weekends or on bank holidays
The timetable is headed “From: 18 October”, which is a Sunday. Because there is no weekend service, the first bus runs on Monday 19 October.
Route 38, Deeds Grove
The 38 has run four trips a weekday since February 2025, when Carousel pointed its passengers to Pick Me Up. From 18 October the new timetable has eight round trips, Monday to Friday. They leave the bus station from 9.25am to 5.25pm, via Deeds Grove and Shelley Road. There is no 3.25pm departure.
Route 29, Downley and Totteridge
Red Eagle’s 29 runs on weekdays only. The 29 timetable has:
- four journeys from the bus station to Coates Lane, Downley, at 9.10am, 11.10am, 1.10pm and 3.10pm
- three journeys on to Walton Drive and Totteridge Drive, at 9.30am, 11.40am and 1.40pm
Routes 331 and 380
The 331 between Chinnor, Bledlow Ridge and High Wycombe keeps its schoolday journey, leaving Chinnor at 7.30am. Its two off-peak trips leave Chinnor at 10.20am and 2.20pm, and the bus station at 10am and 2pm. The timetable contradicts itself on which days these run. The column heading reads “MWTh”, but the key says “Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only”. Check with Red Eagle on 01296 747926 before relying on a Thursday or Friday trip.
The council’s page names the 380 as “Chinnor to High Wycombe via Bledlow Ridge”. Its own 380 timetable shows a Tuesday and Friday route from Jordans through Beaconsfield and Holtspur to Tesco at Loudwater. It runs once each way, leaving Jordans at 10.15am. The midday return from Loudwater now stops at Forty Green and Jordans only if you ask the driver.
What it means for you
If you use Pick Me Up, it is withdrawn from 2 November. Check whether the 29, 34, 34A, 35 or 38 now reaches your street. The council has not published a list of areas that will have no bus at all once it goes.
If you use the 27, the council says Totteridge and Walton Drive move to the 29, and Hatters Lane, Orchard Road and Rayners Avenue move to the 34 and 34A.
If you live at Abbey Barn Park or off Daws Hill Lane, the 35 is your first regular bus into town. It does not run at weekends.
If you drive into town instead, see parking in High Wycombe for car park prices. Road closures that may hold up buses are on our roadworks page.
Carousel’s own service changes page did not list the October changes when we checked on 7 October. The council’s PDFs are the only published timetables so far.
