High Wycombe Fireworks: No Town Display, Four Nearby

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, which means the displays around High Wycombe will almost certainly run on the weekends either side of it.

Start with the thing nobody says out loud: there is no bonfire night display in High Wycombe town centre. Buckinghamshire Council runs none, and the council’s news index carried nothing about fireworks when we checked it on 5 September 2026. The High Wycombe Round Table bonfire at Four Ashes Field on Kingshill Road, which older residents still ask about, has left no trace in recent listings, and the Round Table’s own website, high-wycombe.roundtable.co.uk, refuses every connection we made to it: the server aborts the secure handshake before it sends a page. We could not verify that it still runs, so we are not going to tell you it does.

What the area does have is four community displays within a short drive, three of them inside this paper’s patch. As of 5 September 2026 none of the four had published a 2026 date. That is normal for early September. The organisers here have historically announced in late September and put tickets on sale through October.

The four displays that serve the Wycombe area

Naphill: the one that wins the awards

The Naphill Fireworks display is run by the Village Hall Fireworks Committee and describes itself as the current holder of the public-voted “Best Firework Display in Buckinghamshire”. Its site was still carrying the 2025 event when we read it, but the running order it publishes has been stable for years:

• 4.30pm gates open, barbecue, mulled wine and bar
• 5pm first live music set
• 5.30pm bonfire lit
• 7pm main display
• 7.30pm display ends, live music until about 8.15pm

Two practical points the organisers put in capitals. There is no official parking at all, and the 300 bus between Wycombe and Aylesbury stops directly at the entrance in both directions. They also ask you to bring some cash: the concessions take card, but queues move faster on notes.

Tickets are sold online and, from mid-October, in person at the Black Lion, The Wheel, the post office and the Co-op in the village. Naphill introduced a capacity cap and a limited ticket allocation after demand outgrew the field, so this is not one to leave until the week itself.

Marlow Bottom: the biggest aerial display near Marlow

Marlow Bottom Fireworks is fired by Star Fireworks on the Playing Fields and is run by Marlow Bottom Playing Fields Management Committee, registered charity 271046. The 2025 event ran on Saturday 8 November, gates from 6pm at the top of Burford Close, with the display starting between 7pm and 8pm. It sold out, and the organisers were explicit that there was no entry without a ticket bought in advance.

Their published rules are worth reading before you set off. No dogs, and no sparklers, alcohol, glass or knives. There is no designated parking; the committee asks people to walk if they can, or park further down Marlow Bottom and walk up through Burford Close. The playing fields car park closes for the duration of the event.

Tickets go through ti.to. When we checked the organiser’s box office at ti.to/mbpf on 5 September 2026 it listed no upcoming events, so nothing is on sale yet.

Marlow Monster: the earlier one, in town

Marlow Monster Fireworks is held at Marlow Sports Club on Pound Lane, and in 2025 it ran on Saturday 1 November from 6pm, a week earlier than Marlow Bottom. The club’s own news feed had not mentioned a 2026 display when we read it on 5 September; its most recent posts were about the Marlow Red Kite Ride and a fundraising dinner on 14 November 2026 for the new clubhouse.

Flackwell Heath: the village bonfire

Flackwell Heath Village Bonfire Association runs the village display with the Carrington and Juniper Hill PTAs and 1st Flackwell Heath Scout Group, and splits the profits three ways between them. Its box office at www3.ticketebo.co.uk/fhvba said “This event organiser has no upcoming events at this time” on 5 September 2026, so tickets are not yet live. The Scout group’s fireworks page carries the ticket link when the sale opens.

What we would do

If you want a date in the diary now, watch Naphill and Marlow Bottom. Both sold hard in 2025, both cap numbers, and both put tickets on sale weeks before the night. Neither sells on the gate.

If you want a display within walking distance of High Wycombe town centre, there is not one, and pretending otherwise would waste your evening. Stokenchurch Primary School ran a fireworks evening on Thursday 30 October 2025, which is the closest thing to an in-district school display, but it too has published nothing for 2026.

Getting there and parking

None of these four events provides parking. That is the single most common thing people get wrong about them.

For Naphill, the 300 bus is the organisers’ own recommendation. For Marlow Bottom and Marlow Sports Club, you will be parking on residential streets and walking, so leave extra time and park considerately.
