Hellfire Caves Fright Nights run 24 and 28 to 31 October from £20, Odds Farm picks pumpkins daily over half term and the museum ghost hunt is on 25 October.

High Wycombe has no council-run Halloween event, so the season belongs to the Hellfire Caves at West Wycombe, Odds Farm Park and Wycombe Museum. Half term in Buckinghamshire is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, Halloween falls on the Saturday, and every date and price below was read from the organisers’ own pages on 4 October 2026.

The quick answer

The big one is the Hellfire Caves. Its 16-plus Fright Nights run on Saturday 24 October and then Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 October, from £20; a family Spooky Walk with no jump scares runs on the same dates (Hellfire Caves). For younger children, Odds Farm Park has pumpkin picking daily from 24 October to 1 November (Odds Farm Park) and Wycombe Museum holds a Halloween Ghost Hunt on Sunday 25 October, £7 a child (Wycombe Museum). Odds Farm’s Pumpkin Family Nights on 10 and 24 October are already sold out.

The Hellfire Caves, West Wycombe

The caves are the area’s only full Halloween programme, with four separate things on.

  • Halloween opening, 18 October to 1 November. The caves close from 12 to 17 October to decorate, then open daily 10am to 4pm, last entry 3.30pm, with the normal audio guide and Halloween decorations. Normal prices apply: £9.50 an adult, £8 for children under 16 and concessions, £21 for a family of three and £30 for a family of four (Hellfire Caves: visit).
  • Fright Nights: Haunted Hellfire Club, ages 16 and over. Saturday 24 October, then Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 October. Gates open at 6pm and the last entry is 8.45pm, or 9.45pm on Halloween, which the caves call their premium night. Live actors play Suki the Ghost Bride and Paul Whitehead, the club’s former steward. Tickets start at £20 and are non-refundable, though the caves may swap you to another date.
  • Spooky Walk, all ages. The same five dates, with friendly characters, candlelight and “no jump scares”. The caves list the last entry as 4pm to 4.30pm.
  • Halloween Kids Disco, Sunday 1 November, 2pm to 4pm. A DJ in the caves, games and a prize for the best costume. £12.50 a child and £5 an adult.

Next door, the Walled Garden runs a pumpkin patch with ten photo spots, games, a bingo sheet and pumpkins to buy, plus face painting at weekends and over half term. The caves’ page gives the start as 17 October in one place and Saturday 18th in another, so check the booking page before going on the first weekend; it ends on 31 October.

Getting there. The caves are on Church Lane, HP14 3AH, but have very little parking. Use the 200-space car park on Chorley Road, HP14 3AP, a five-minute walk away. The caves are not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Odds Farm Park, Wooburn Common

Odds Farm (HP10 0LX) runs its Pumpkin Festival in three parts (Odds Farm Park):

  • Pumpkin weekends: every Saturday and Sunday in October, with one free small pumpkin for each paying child from the patch, while stocks last and weather permitting.
  • Half term, 24 October to 1 November, daily: the pumpkin patch, carving in the Craft Barn, the “Monster Mash Bash” character show in the Show Barn and bubble shows.
  • Pumpkin Family Nights, 10 and 24 October: sold out.

The farm is open 10am to 5.30pm, last entry 4.30pm. From 6 October it closes on term-time Tuesdays, but it stays open on the half term Tuesday, 27 October (opening times). Prices change by date and are lower online. The farm does not admit lone adult visitors.

Wycombe Museum, Priory Avenue

  • Pumpkin Hunt Trail, 11 October to 1 November, 10am to 4pm on open days: coloured pumpkins hidden around the museum and gardens, a puzzle and a sweet at the end. £3.15 a child, ages three to 11. The museum is closed on Mondays and Saturdays, so the trail is not on Halloween itself (Wycombe Museum).
  • Halloween Ghost Hunt, Sunday 25 October, timed slots from 2pm to 6pm, about an hour each: games and crafts in fancy dress, indoors and in the gardens. £7 a child, ages four to 11; adults need no ticket (Wycombe Museum).

The museum has a small free car park. Its event pages still mention Easton Street car park, which has closed and is being demolished.

In High Wycombe town centre

The Wycombe Swan runs two Halloween workshops in the Old Town Hall:

  • SFX Halloween Makeup, Thursday 15 October, 6pm to 8pm. Fake wounds and special effects makeup with the Swan’s team, £16 (Wycombe Swan).
  • Craft Café: Pumpkin Lanterns, Friday 16 October, 10.30am to 1.30pm. The monthly craft morning; young children can come with an adult. £8 (Wycombe Swan).

Dog Man: The Musical is at the Swan over the first three days of half term, 26 to 28 October, from £27 (Wycombe Swan).

Princes Risborough and Chinnor

  • Princes Risborough Halloween Trail, Saturday 31 October. The town council has the date in its events diary. Everything else is listed as “to be confirmed” (Princes Risborough Town Council).
  • Autumn Steam Gala, Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. Not a Halloween event, but the railway’s big weekend of half term. Visiting engines include the GWR Saint class 2999 Lady of Legend and the BR 9F 92134. A 1-day rover costs £27 an adult and £12 a child online (plus a £2 booking fee per order), or £32 and £17 on the day. Chinnor’s free car park will be limited, and the railway suggests travelling by train to Princes Risborough (Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway).

Still to be confirmed

  • Princes Risborough Halloween Trail: route, times and cost.
  • Hughenden (National Trust): no Halloween or half term events were listed for the house when we checked.
  • Hellfire Caves Fright Night prices above £20: the caves give “from £20”; the full price list is on the booking page.

This page is updated as the details come in. The weekend after half term is Bonfire Night weekend: our fireworks page lists the local displays.
